In March 1999 a small model of care of the 1999 Mercedes Benz E320 was made. These included engine side, the introduction of the new V6 engine series (M112) instead of the previous inline 6-cylinder. In addition, there were a number of specific safety improvements such as
* The introduction of the beardless locking (FBS 3 with wireless immobilizer, central locking previously Infrared)
* Of the Brake Assist (BAS)
* Acceleration skid control (ASR) as standard
* Sidebags in the front doors as standard
* The maintenance interval calculator (Assyst) for extended inspection intervals
* Automatic door locking at 8 km / h.

It was sold under the name T-model. In the model name, the T is appended to it. 1999 Mercedes Benz E320, for example, described the sedan, the wagon E 320 T. Internally, the T-models marked with an S. A W210 is a sedan (W = "car") and a S210 is a T-model (S = "station wagon").
